An early passion for the stage led me to lower Manhattan in the mid-70s when Sam Shepard mixed it up at La Mama.
At the Kitchen a few years later I tried my hand at performance art and, for the first time, took up with oil paints.
A two-year stint at Fashion Institute of Technology taught me to cut, drape and draw the attenuated human form of the supermodel.
I never know what I’m doing, and I like it like that.
